REQUIRED: Studio Days
So often life seems to get away from me and I realize its been week’s since I took the time to just try something new, different, or creative. This isn’t saying that I am not always taking photos, but that it isn’t always pushing my boundaries. I really hope that this year I will take more time to do that, to try the new, hard, or experimental images that seem to always be on my mind.
So today I spent some hours at work in my studio. When doing my thesis work it truly made me realize that I can use double exposure or triple exposure imagery to create a deeper meaning in my photos. I have a bunch of ideas that will be moving along this line in future projects. Today though, I really wanted to start practicing doing some Photoshop composite images that will be what I will later work on in either film photography, a combination of film and digital, or even possibly photography with mixed media. I have a lot of ideas to flush out the next year until I decide the way this work will go.
These images were the base to a composite I planned. The idea was along the lines of “What do you hold in your hands vs. What slips through your fingers?” I included all three crop options as I am still not sure of my favorite.
